There is so much to see and do in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway, and Port Logan is a great base from which to explore the area. Some of our visitors pitch up and stay put, simply soaking up the views, and enjoying walks on the beach and local area. But, if you want to venture out, there are a wide variety of attractions and days out for you to choose from.

Click the images below or the headings for more information and suggestions for places to visit. Also make sure you visit the Kirkmaiden Information Centre on Main Street in Drummore, who have local specialist knowledge and public internet access.

Finally, there's stunning Glenwhan,  created from wild moorland. Which will be your favourite?

History History
Human settlement has a long history in the area, and this is reflected in the artefacts and buildings left behind for us to discover and interpret. A good place to start your exploration would be the Stranraer Museum. But you might also wish to look at OS Explorer maps for clues to the past. Follow the links on the 'History' page if you want to find out more.
